Niche Marketing

Niche marketing requires Research to find the right niche products or services. This  is the most important task  to complete before starting a niche marketing program.

What you need to know is where your potential clients spend their time online. What makes them tick from a personal and business point of view.

You can make use of  niche marketing software, such as the  Google Keyword Tool   that can help you obtain this information about your potential niche market.

Niche Marketing Ideas

As you research your online niche marketing  target markets, you need to find out what you can reasonably charge for your product or service. The best and most effective way to do this, is to go to sites that advertise products or services similar to what you have to sell.

If they are giving away or selling the product/service at a price far lower than you would have to charge, you need to find out why they are doing this. Is it because what they are marketing is of inferior quality compared to your product or service? If not, find out how they make money because no one is in business as a hobby. Just like you they need to make a profit.

Any niche marketing product or service you promote should be based on something that people actually need and will make their lives better in some way. It should make them feel better and make them look better, or help them solve a problem.

If you can find people who are willing to spend money to buy what you are selling, then you have a niche marketing product or service that can make you money.

Research is the key to successful niche marketing.

Although most research can be done online, some can be done in the real world. Such as going to a bookstore to see if you can find your “Niche”.

People buy ‘how-to’ books and books that are devoted to solving their problems or making their lives better every day. By identifying the hot market books that are being sold in bookstores can help you find a hot niche market.

What kind of non-fiction books are on the shelves? Pay particular attention  to those that are self-help or how-to books. Find staff who are able to tell you which of these books are selling the the most. Note what topics these books cover because one of these could be your “Niche”.

Another option are online bookstores such amazon. You can’t, of course, ask for information from a person but you can research the site and determine which of the non-fiction self-help and how-to books are selling best.

Finding out what books people buy most often can give you some insight into what the hot niche marketing  subjects are.

Demographics such as age, gender, educational level, marital status are just some of the factors that should be taken into account when developing a niche marketing business.

Your research should culminate with finding a unique product or service that will satisfy the unmet needs of a particular group of people.

Armed with this information, you can go about finding a niche marketing product or service that will have a better chance of being successful.

A good source is Clickbank which has a large number of digital products. Another, is Commission Junction which has a variety of products or services from a variety of merchants. Amazon is no longer just about books, it now has a wide variety of products suitable for niche marketing.

Once you find your “Niche” your ready to find and register  a domain name. I recommend  Namecheap as your domain name registrar. The name you choose should include your keyword and should be descriptive of your niche marketing product or service.

For example, if your Niche product is a type of watch then your domain name could be “classicwatches.com”.

Finally, when you find your “Niche” you  completed the most important step towards niche marketing success. The next step is to sign up for a hosting service for your website or blog. I recommend Hostgator to host your domain name host. If you use the following coupon code (docbou20462) you will get 25% off whichever hosting plan you choose. The reason I recommend Hostgater (which I use) is that they have a very graphic control panel (cpanel) which makes it a one click operation to install WordPress.  This is an excellent platform with which to build a website or blog. If you enroll in the WordPress Crash Course you can have your niche marketing site up and running much faster.

The most important word of advice I can give to anyone: know your audience. The more you can connect with them, the more they will buy into your product — whatever that may be. It’s always wise to think ahead and make sure you can connect with them real well!

No matter what you do with marketing, it’s important to speak to the customer’s needs. Don’t be afraid to be specific and always make them think they’re getting a bargain!

I agree with all of the above. But you can’t ignore the research. Never assume you know your demographic. Always look for new, inventive ways to reaching out to them.
